Speech Title : The Ideal for Building a Reservoir Under The Ground in Mekong Delta in Vietnam
Dr. Huu Hue Van is a civil and water resources engineering expert with more than 35 years of professional experience in hydraulic engineering, geotechnical engineering, riverbank protection, and infrastructure development in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Irrigation and Land Reclamation from Can Tho University in 1987, a Master's degree in Hydraulic Engineering from Hanoi Water Resources University in 2000, and a Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology in 2008. Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Van has held several senior leadership positions within provincial government agencies, including Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment and Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vinh Long Province. His research focuses on riverbank erosion, embankment stability, soft soil engineering, climate change adaptation, and sustainable water infrastructure. He has authored numerous scientific publications and conference papers addressing erosion control and hydraulic engineering challenges in the Mekong Delta. Dr. Van continues to contribute actively to research, policy development, and engineering solutions aimed at enhancing climate resilience and sustainable development in Vietnam.
