Speech Title : Cadmium sulfide (CdS) nanoparticles and Cd2+ accumulated by Portulaca oleracea L. using a hydroponic system: constructed wetland perspective

Dr. Hameed Ullah is a researcher in plant-environment interaction whose work bridges molecular plant biology and the socio-ecological challenges of pollution. With a background in plant growth and development, he began his career at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, where his research expanded from physiological and genetic responses of flora to include questions of how environmental contaminants affect agricultural communities and land restoration efforts. Increasingly, his work engages with the political dimensions of sustainable agriculture—exploring how crop tolerance strategies must adapt not only to stressed environments but also to shifting governance frameworks, resource access, and economic pressures on farming systems. Driven by a commitment to nature’s resilience and to equitable knowledge exchange, He is interested in how indigenous and local ecological knowledge can inform molecular and physiological research. An avid reader and nature enthusiast, he approaches ecology as both a scientific and a societal conversation.
